We are Ticos!

Today we were Ticos! That is the term that the locals call themselves and we are actually starting to feel like we are locals! Our day was spent working in San Jose.

We went to a presentation this morning where they served Gallo Pinto. This is a traditional breakfast in Costa Rica that consists of the following: Eggs, Rice mixed with Black Beans, a Fried Plantain, Sour Cream and some Toast.

We have had this breakfast almost every day! Yum!

I forgot to mention this yesterday, but on the bus ride back to San Jose I talked with a local about the agriculture in Costa Rica. He had some Sugar Cane with him that he let me sample.. it takes like a sweet coconut milk. It was delicious!

This afternoon, Maggie and I walked to the University where we are taking some classes. This is the view just a couple blocks from our house! So pretty!!

Today was much more relaxing as we prepare for a big week ahead. We are going to the Northwest region of Costa Rica to spend a week at the beach! Good night for today!

Thanks for following!

  1. One week down and you are already diving yourselves into the Latin lifestyle...I love it! I'm so happy the two of you are thoroughly enjoying yourselves and I get to live vicariously through the blog hehe. Miss you girls!

One question: are you still considered a tico if you're female?
